Toasty Roasted Chickpeas

I am the kind of person who enjoys having something to snack on during the day. These roasted chickpeas are ideal for that; however their main purpose is to be served with food such as soups or salads to give them a crunchy element. You can use them as you prefer, and you will find they are very useful and delicious for several different situations. As a word of advice, these taste their best as soon as they are ready, if you store them for the next day they will still be good, but they lose their crunchiness, I personally don’t mind it, when I prepare them I make a whole bunch and eat them with every meal. To prepare them you need:

  • Cooked or canned chickpeas, the amount depends on how many you want to make.
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Sea salt
  • Paprika
  • A towel

Prep:

  • Using the towel dry the chickpeas. When they are all dry place them in a bowl and mix them with the rest of the ingredients (to taste).
  • Place them in the oven in a pan on 220 C. They should be spread equally and not placed in a bunch. The amount that you will need to toast them depends on how cooked they are, usually 25-45 minutes.
  • Serve with your favorite food or salad.

Garbanzos tostados

Yo soy el tipo de persona que siempre busca comida para picar durante el día. Estos garbanzos tostados son ideales para esto, sin embargo su propósito principal es acompañar sopas y ensaladas para darles un elemento crujiente. Se pueden usar de cualquier manera, y son muy útiles en diferentes situaciones y platillos. Un consejo es comerlos en el momento en el que se preparan, ya que si se guardan para el día siguiente dejan de ser tan crujientes. En lo personal a mí no me molesta, yo usualmente hago una gran cantidad y la guardo para acompañar diferentes comidas. Para prepararlos se necesita:

  • Garbanzos cocinados y enlatados, la cantidad depende de cuánto se desea preparar.
  • Pimienta cayena
  • Ajo en polvo
  • Sal marina
  • Paprika
  • Una toalla

Preparación:

  • Secar los garbanzos usando la toalla. Cuando estén todos bien secos mezclarlos en un recipiente con el resto de los ingredientes.
  • Colocar en una bandeja en el horno a 220 C. Se deben colocar esparcidos y no en puños. La cantidad de tiempo que se dejan en el horno depende de que tan cocinados estén, usualmente es entre 25 y 45 minutos.
  • Servirlos con tu comida favorita o ensalada.
